If you’re looking for a place that will take care of the majority of the work so you can have an elegant waterfront wedding that feels effortless, we’re pretty certain we have the perfect spot. As wedding photographers, we get the chance to see all the best venues in action. If you’re searching for your venue, we’d love to tell you what you can expect from a Bonnet Island Estate wedding

About the Bonnet Island Estate Wedding Venue

Bonnet Island Estate is surrounded by dunes and wetlands and is located on a private coastal island with traditional Nantucket-style buildings. This wedding venue features plenty of guest accommodations and suites that used to serve as a duck hunting lodge. With historical relics that guests can find in the suites, this venue is not short of its history. For example, the Boathouse Chapel was transported beam by beam from New England and restored on-site.

Details of the Grounds

First, you can say your vows inside the Boathouse Chapel during your ceremony at the Bonnet Island Estate wedding venue. However, you can keep the doors open and allow the coastal breeze into the venue space. The chapel can accommodate up to 170 guests. This intimate setting is timber-framed and features rustic barn doors and river-stone fireplaces.

Then, you can use the indoor ballroom as a beautiful place to hold your wedding reception. This location can accommodate up to 250 friends and family. It features 30-foot cathedral ceilings that resemble the introverted hull of a classic sailing ship! You’ll also find floor-to-ceiling windows for gorgeous bay views and a huge dance floor.

In addition to the ceremony and reception space, you can utilize other smaller areas for your cocktail hour. These include the Veranda and Cocktail Lounge, which are both outdoors. However, your guests can step inside the estate for places to sit and overlook the wildlife marshes. You can also use this space to house your hors d’oeuvres and drinks. If you need a place to get ready, you can also request usage of the bridal parlor. The parlor comes with champagne, elegant mirrors, and salon chairs. The nautical-inspired groom’s shack overlooks the chapel and features leather chairs and a TV.

Overnight accommodations are also available and have 12 private suites, including junior and master bridal suites. These rooms feature in-room fireplaces, jacuzzis in each bath, and balconies with one-of-a-kind views.

Photography Opportunities

The Bridal Parlor is well-lit to ensure you have plenty of portraits while you’re getting ready. The greenhouse on the venue is a favorite spot for couple’s pictures, and the dock lets you get some iconic portraits on the water. The gardens will be your go-to place for group pictures.

Wedding Details

The Bonnet Island Estate wedding venue requires a site fee to reserve your day. In addition, there is also a separate fee for the exclusive caterer, Merri Makers Catering, for all food and beverages. The site fee includes using the estate and tables and chairs in the ballroom for the reception and ceremony. At this venue, you can choose to rent the entire estate or just rent the estate for a 5-hour event. Catering, however, is not included in the rental price. A full estate rental includes accommodations for up to 24 guests.
