There are spaces with large stone fireplaces, perfect for guests to catch up while enjoying a beverage, impressive tiered chandeliers made of antlers, and plenty of gorgeous windows that showcase the surrounding views. Dance the night away under romantic string lighting, and when you need a break, check out the outdoor fire pit for a little fresh air.

Elle and Dan spent the morning getting ready for their big day at the Appalachian Hotel which is right next door to the Red Tail Lodge at Mountain Creek. It was so convenient to have their getting ready location so close to their ceremony and reception location! We started the day with bridal details and candids. Elle had so many beautiful details for her winter themed wedding. She had beautiful emerald green shoes, a fluffy fur shawl, full invitation suite, her very own velvet ring box and the most stunning earrings! I had so much fun styling her details at the start of the day! Dan and his groomsmen also got ready at the same hotel and had a ton of details as well.

First Look at Mountain Creek

Elle and Dan decided they wanted to have a First Look before their ceremony for a few reasons. The first was that their ceremony was scheduled to begin after sunset, and they wanted to make sure they had portraits taken in natural light. The second was that they wanted to see each other earlier to be able to spend more time together on their special day! Lastly, they were also able to take all of their immediate and extended family photos before their ceremony, and they were able to enjoy their entire cocktail hour!

When we were setting Dan up for the First Look, I asked him if he was nervous, and you could tell he was so excited and couldn’t wait to see his beautiful bride! Dan definitely teared up as he twirled Elle and took in her full bridal look. It was such a sweet moment!

Wedding Ceremony & Reception

Elle and Dan had a beautiful winter-themed ceremony at Mountain Creek. The ceremony backdrop was beautiful evergreen trees with white twinkle lights! It was so pretty! There were definitely tears from the bride, groom, and their guests as Elle walked down the aisle. Yes, you read that right! Even after their First Look, Dan became emotional during their ceremony!

The ballroom at the Red Tail Lodge is the perfect venue for a Christmas/winter-themed wedding! The tables were decorated with tall vases filled with greenery and branches. During their first dance, they had the DJ fill the dance floor with snow, and it was straight out of a fairytale or Christmas movie!
