Keep reading to find out what makes this secluded gem of a venue an excellent option for an intimate, beautiful wedding!
About The North Shore House Wedding Venue
North Shore House is a highly sought-after venue with rich history, beautiful accommodations, and exquisite dining. The hotel opened in 1938, and at the time, the property stretched along 96 acres of the north shore of Swartswood Lake – hence the name North Shore House! The hotel thrived for fifteen years as guests flocked to the lake for summertime activities, delicious restaurant and tap room meals, and plenty of clean, fresh air! Today, the Inn has 13 rooms available to accommodate wedding parties and guests, or even general guests when they aren’t hosting beautiful weddings! They still have delicious food, plenty of onsite activities, and 27 acres of lakeshore waterfront to enjoy when you visit. It’s the perfect secluded waterfront getaway!
Details of the Grounds
Regardless of what you envision for your wedding, North Shore House has a fantastic team that will make it all happen! Indoor, outdoor, a mix of the two – they’ll bring it all together so you can enjoy every moment spent surrounded by your family and friends. You can choose several locations for an outdoor ceremony, including a patio that overlooks the pristine lake and tree-lined shore. Invite up to 200 of your closest friends and families to celebrate your new marriage. Then, you and your guests can relax on blue-stone terraces as you watch the beautiful sunset over the lake, sitting by the fire and enjoying delicious cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Set up some fun lawn games to keep everyone entertained, too!
The Inn is a beautiful display of rustic elegance, with everything restored and remodeled from its former glory days. Their indoor reception space is cozy and warm, with rich wooden floors and walls but plenty of bright light to keep things airy and romantic. There are spacious getting-ready areas for you and your partner to prepare for your wedding day, as well as plenty of other ways to customize how you use North Shore House’s spaces to create a totally customized and unforgettable wedding.
Photography Opportunities
The incredible waterfront grounds at North Shore House are definitely the biggest draw for phenomenal wedding photos, and we’ll be sure to take plenty amongst the lakefront property and all of the groves of lush green trees. The exterior of North Shore House has a charming cottage feel that also sets up some unique shots. As the sun sets, the stunning landscaping takes on a romantic glow perfect for portraits, and we’ll sneak away to ensure we take advantage of as much Golden Hour timing as possible.
Wedding Details
In addition to the outstanding service you’ll receive while planning and executing your wedding, there are plenty of other perks to having your event at North Shore House. Their in-house chef will provide an exquisitely designed and cooked farm-to-table meal with white-glove service that will impress every guest.
They also offer an extended Champagne ceremony, onsite activities for additional entertainment, and a custom wedding cake that is a treat for the eyes and the taste buds. Plus, with the exception of your catering, they have a list of recommended vendors known for their impeccable services. Still, you can work with the vendors you choose for the wedding of your dreams.
A Real North Shore House Wedding Day
Julianne and Tyler’s North Shore House Wedding in New Jersey was definitely one for the books! This beautiful venue is right on a lake, making for an amazing ceremony and portrait views. During Husband and Wife photos, we were able to get outside for the most dreamy golden hour light!
Julianne and Tyler had a beautiful lakeside ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at the North Shore House in Swartswood, New Jersey!
Every detail of the day was rustic and modern. Julianne wore the most beautiful Badgley Mischka shoes and an elegant gown; one of my favorite details was her jewelry. The matching set given to her by her Aunt Marijo has the most unique design of large pearls backed by beautiful silver starbursts. The bridal bouquet included coral and white roses, mums, and succulents. The bridesmaid’s dresses were an eye-catching soft shade of coral, and the girls looked absolutely beautiful! Tyler and his groomsmen wore light grey suits, which went perfectly with the coral dresses and summer backdrop!
