Cameron and Matt’s Palace at Somerset Park Wedding was phenomenal! Each and every one of their timeless details matched perfectly with this gorgeous venue. Cameron and Matt looked like nothing short of royalty on their beautiful summer wedding day!
The Love Story
Cameron and Matt have been dating for the better part of a decade now. They had their first date while still in high school at Stewart’s Restaurant in Pier Village. On that first date, Matt saved a little note that Cameron had written him. He saved that precious piece of paper for NINE YEARS! He would use that note to propose to the love of his life! We even took their beautiful engagement photos right where it all began, at Pier Village! Here we are, on their wedding day, and we could not be happier to be a part of your special day!
Getting Ready at the Palace at Somerset Park
The Palace at Somerset Park was absolutely stunning from top to bottom, but it is all about the DETAILS baby! The romantic details for Cameron + Matt’s Palace at Somerset Park wedding included a timeless invitation suite with black and gold accents, an ivory velvet ring box, a gold mirror tray, and Badgley Mischka crystal stilettos. In honor of Matt’s late mother, Cameron donned a gold bracelet and earrings.
You may have seen us talk about how much we love cathedral length veils in our previous posts… Cameron wore a stunning ROYAL length veil from her late grandmother. Royal length veils are 120+ inches in length and was a dream to photograph! The morning was emotional for everyone, especially Cameron and her mother. Cameron was surrounded by her mother, god mother, sister, Matt’s sisters, bridesmaids, and closest friends as she finished getting ready for her wedding day!
Matt got ready in the Groom suite at the Palace at Somerset Park. He carefully adorned himself with the Hunsberger family crest stamp, a photo pin in honor of his late mother, and a Movado watch. Matt was surrounded by his closest friends, many of whom he has known since he was very young as he got ready to say “I Do” to the love of his life!
First Look at Palace at Somerset Park
Matt and Cameron opted for a first look, which we captured on the beautiful white and grey terrace of the West House at the Palace at Somerset Park. The white and grey exterior of the Palace was the perfect backdrop for all of our portraits! Cameron cried and they both smiled sweetly at each other as they hugged one another knowing that today was the day they would become husband and wife!
If you’re thinking about a first look on your wedding day, we highly recommend it. With this classic NJ summer weather, the threat of rain seems like it’s always looming. By opting for a first look, if it rains, we have LOTS more time for portraits and to work around the weather! After we took the first look portraits for Matt + Cameron, it rained. We are so glad we had time to sneak in this portrait session first!
Wedding Ceremony in the Grand Foyer at the Palace at Somerset Park
Matt and Cameron’s wedding ceremony in the grand foyer at the Palace at Somerset Park was gorgeous! At the ceremony, Matt and his father walked down the aisle accompanied by each of Matt’s two sisters. His sisters were the officiants of the ceremony. The junior bridal party members carried Cameron’s 20 foot veil down the aisle as she approached her husband standing at the alter. As a symbol of good luck, the couple cut a dollar bill in half. This was an ode to Matt’s grandparents. who upheld this same tradition on their wedding day! The unplugged ceremony meant guests could be fully present for the moment that Matt and Cameron became husband and wife!
West House Wedding Reception
The wedding reception was held at the West House at the Palace at Somerset Park. When you are inside this venue, you truly feel like royalty. The high ceilings, the gold accents, and the chandeliers make this venue the perfect setting for an elegant and timeless wedding reception!
At the wedding, toasts were given by the father of the bride and maids of honor, in honor of Cameron and her huge heart. Her MOHs spoke of their lifelong friendship and her adventurous personality which is always keeping them busy! Matt’s best man honored him by talking about how well he compliments Cameron, and for his love of 90s rap music. He welcomed Cameron to the family officially, as “Mrs. Hunsy!”
Matt and Cameron’s wedding was a dream to shoot from start to finish. We are so happy to be able to capture this special day for you! Wishing you all the love and happiness in the world!
