About The Pen Ryn Estate Wedding Venue
1601 State Rd, Bensalem, PA 19020
Pen Ryn Estate is home to three totally unique waterfront venues that are perfect for hosting elegant weddings and celebrations. Originally built by wealthy English shipping merchants in 1790, it was eventually sold to the Drexel family, who then married into the Wharton family (the founders of Drexel University and UPenn School of Business, respectively.) By the late 1980s, the estate was home to the Pen Ryn School, but after the school moved, the property sat vacant for over a decade, falling into disrepair.
In 1993, the current owners began renovating the estate back to its original grandeur. Pen Ryn Mansion held its first wedding in 1995, and its popularity soon blossomed. In 2006, they converted the property’s existing carriage house, Belle Voir, into an additional event space. In 2020, they broke ground on the third and final venue space, River’s Edge, a unique tented space just 100 yards from the shores of the Delaware River.

Details of the Grounds
Pen Ryn Estate is home to three unique event venues to accommodate the unique wedding of your dreams. Each venue comes with its own Bridal Suites and Groom Rooms, too, so there’s plenty of space for getting ready on your big day.
The first is Pen Ryn Mansion, a stunning historic home with features like a beautiful gallery, a luxurious ballroom, and plenty of antique details. It can accommodate up to 300 guests 9 (with a dance floor). A beautiful wooden bar situated right off of the ballroom is perfect to keep your guests refreshed all night long in between songs on the dance floor.

Belle Voir Manor is an exquisite venue with manicured gardens, stately columns, crystal chandeliers, and incredible views of the Delaware River. A grand staircase is the perfect setting for a fairy tale entrance, and a private courtyard with garden furnishings is the perfect place to catch a little fresh air throughout the evening.
Last but certainly not least, the River’s Edge Pavilion is an extraordinary tented venue space. But we’re not just talking about any tent; this space is more like an elegant airplane hangar with walls of windows overlooking the gorgeous river. With room for up to 300 guests, this temperature-controlled tent is modern, fully paved, and has plenty of amenities to keep you and your guests comfortable and entertained.

In addition, you’ll have the help of an in-house wedding planner and coordinator to help you with every detail. They handle everything from choosing your menu to building your timeline to making sure everything runs smoothly. You may also bring in your own decor to each of the three unique venue spaces to truly personalize your event.
