I had the best time with Nicole and Mikey during their Cross Estate Gardens Bernardsville Engagement Session! It was a foggy fall morning, but we were still able to get gorgeous photos for their engagement!
The Love Story
Nicole and Mikey met long before they started dating. They had a mutual friend who hosted parties that they both would attend. Years later, they would bump into each other here and there. One day, Nicole ‘liked’ one of Mikey’s Facebook statuses and Mikey decided to reach out to her! A couple days later, they met up for their first date at a coffee shop called Beans and Leaves. After the coffee shop closed, they decided to drive around the neighborhood. When Mikey dropped Nicole off, they shared their first kiss while “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” played on the radio!
New Jersey Proposal
The couple had planned a vacation to California and Nicole thought Mikey would propose while on vacation. The night before their flight, Mikey decided they should have dinner at the same restaurant where they had their first “official” date. They ordered dinner and Mikey asked the waiter to take their photo. That’s when he got on one knee and proposed! And they were able to get the whole thing on video! Nicole was completely shocked because she was sure he would ask her while on vacation! Their song started to play on the radio right after. When they got back home, Mikey had a surprise party planned with their immediate family to celebrate!
Cross Estate Gardens Bernardsville Engagement
Cross Estate Gardens is such a beautiful location for sessions during any season! This was my first time there during peak fall foliage and it was STUNNING. Nicole and Mikey showed up dressed to the nines! Nicole wore a beautiful peach colored cocktail dress and Mikey wore a black suit. I love it when couples dress up for their sessions because the confidence truly carries over into their photos. You’ll definitely see what I mean when you scroll through some of my favorites from their session!
