Pier Village Long Branch NJ Summer Engagement Session – Cameron and Matt

I absolutely love every opportunity I get to photograph an engagement session at the beach here in NJ! I was so excited when Cameron told me that she and Matt would like to have their engagement session at Pier Village in Long Branch, NJ.

The Love Story

Cameron and Matt met in high school through a mutual friend named Kevin. She saw Matt playing volleyball with her friend in Normandy Park. She told Kevin that she thought Matt was cute. Kevin then invited Cameron to the beach the next day with both of them. Playing matchmaker, Kevin send Matt’s number to Cameron and told her Matt needed a ride to the beach! Shockingly, he lived down the street from her yet they had never met before.

They started dating at the end of their senior year of high school. On their first date, they went to Stewart’s Restaurant at Pier Village. They ended up going their separate ways during college. Two years later, they started dating again and have been together for 9 years! When their wedding comes around, they will have spent a decade together!!

The Proposal

Matt told Cameron to meet him in the city for dinner and holiday shopping with his coworker. She met them at the Christmas tree in Bryant Park. They love going to the shops there during Christmas time so she wasn’t expecting anything. As they stood there, Matt pulled an old Stewart’s root beer menu out of his pocket. The menu had a note from Cameron that she had written a note on the back of from their very first date. He explained that he saved it all this time to use for this specific purpose. And that is when he got down on one knee and proposed!
