After a week of cold and rain, we got some beautiful weather for Joanna and Mark’s engagement session at Waterloo Village! We’re so happy with the way the weather turned out for their reschedule date!
The Love Story
Joanna and Mark have known each other since 3rd grade because they grew up in the same area. It wasn’t until many years later, when they started dating in high school! They began dating their senior year of high school which means they have been together for almost 9 years! On their first date, they made plans to get ice cream at Cliff’s Dairy Made after Mark’s Football game. They drank their milkshakes until it was time for curfew!
LBI Beach proposal
After spending a week down the shore in LBI with Joanna’s family, Mark had planned a dinner date for just the two of them at a restaurant next to Barnegat Lighthouse for their last night. After dinner, Mark asked Joanna to take a walk next to the light house. As they walked near the lighthouse, he got down on one knee to propose! Mark also surprised her by hiring a photographer to capture the proposal and they had an engagement shoot right afterwards. The shoot also included a blanket set up with roses and champagne. After the photo session was done, they came back to a fully decorated beach house where not only Joanna’s family, but also Mark’s family was waiting for them! Their LBI beach proposal was definitely a day they will remember forever!
Waterloo Village Engagement Photos
Waterloo Village is a beautiful location for engagement photos during any season! The light colored buildings are a wonderful backdrop and I love shooting at locations with light and neutral colors. We walked along the gravel road through the historic site, laughing and enjoying the beautiful weather. We were even joined by some deer!
