We had a fantastic time with Mikaela and Chris at their Skylands Manor engagement session! The Castle at Skylands Manor is breath taking, and these two are equally as stunning! The Love Story
Mikaela and Chris were first introduced to one another as co-workers at the same hospital. Even though they were not on the same shift, and working in separate departments, Chris would regularly visit the department “next door” where Mikaela was. Their relationship started with office small talk, and casually grew into an exchange of snapchat usernames and silly selfies! As they got to know each other better, they finally made plans to hang out. Although at the time, Mikaela thought this was a “friends” hangout, Chris had other intentions that he soon made clear. On their first date, Chris picked up Mikaela, and they went snowboarding at Camelback Mountain. Both showing their adventurous sides, this date was where their love story began! Fast forward four years later, here we are, at their NJ Botanical Gardens engagement shoot and preparing for their wedding in July!
Intimate Vacation Proposal
After two years of dating, Mikaela and Chris took their first trip out of the county together to beautiful Mexico. After a long and draining flight, Mikaela and Chris took a walk on the beach to begin soaking up the sweet relief of being on vacation together, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As they sat together facing the ocean, feeling the salty breeze on their skin, Chris began to speak very sweetly to Mikaela, expressing his adoration towards her. Before she knew it, he was down on one knee, presenting her with a ring and asking her to be his wife! Through tears, she said yes, and just like that– they were engaged! Chris told her family that he was planning this surprise before they left, making the moment even more special. He truly managed to surprise her; she was the only one who didn’t know!
The Castle at Skylands Manor Engagement Session
The Castle at Skylands Manor and the surrounding grounds were the absolute perfect setting for this elegant couple’s engagement session! We had so much fun getting to know Mikaela and Chris, and exploring the grounds to find the perfect angles for them. And let me tell you: We found them! That lift pose with their reflection in the pond is something out of a DREAM! Even though these two started off nervous, as many couples do, by the end of the session I was so grateful to hear that they became more and more comfortable being in front of the camera. This is the greatest compliment we can receive from our couples, and we strive to always deliver on this expectation!
