The Brick House Farm Wedding – Erin and Eric

Erin and Eric’s Wedding at the Brick House Farm in Sparta, New Jersey was one that was so incredibly special to us, for so many reasons! We absolutely adored the romantic ambiance of their outdoor ceremony. To top it off, Erin and Eric readied themselves for their beautiful (and several times rescheduled) Wedding Day on site at the gorgeous Brick Colonial Home, the perfect venue for their rustic chic vibe! Finally, we saw three of our DK couples at this one wedding! I mean, talk about a photographer’s dream come true!

The Love Story

Despite a chaotic year, and having to reschedule their wedding several times, Erin and Eric were determined to tie the knot amongst their family and friends! After having a small and intimate wedding ceremony one year ago, this big celebration was a long time coming, and well worth the wait! The Brick House Farm Wedding that they planned was perfect from beginning to end!

Getting Ready at the Brick House Farm

The Brick House Farm in Sparta, NJ was beautiful inside and out. Inside, there were gorgeous antique pieces of furniture, and tons of natural light. Outside, the vintage vibes continued with the twinkle lights and chandelier hanging from the trees!  Erin herself was even decorated with timeless family heirlooms, including an engagement ring from the 1930’s, and a unicorn + heart charm from Eric’s late grandmother’s necklace. Both charms hold a very special meaning for the couple, especially for Eric because it was so special to his grandmother throughout his entire life. Eric had even tried to take a bite of the heart charm when he was 2 years old! He may have gotten in trouble at the time, but now it’s a special memory and a funny story in remembrance of his grandmother.

Eric wore a navy suit and a champagne tie. Erin and her girls got ready on the first floor of the Brick House, while Eric was on the second floor. We absolutely loved the sweet moments of Erin’s mom helping her into her dress. You can see how perfectly her mom’s dress matched the underlay of Erin’s gown!

Emotional First look at Georgian Brick Colonial Home

Erin and Eric took their first look photos on the back patio of the Brick House. Erin’s gown was lovely, lace, and had a champagne underlay, which matched Eric’s tie. She wore a rose gold bracelet and earrings, and Betsy Johnson chunk heels.  When he finally saw her, Eric gave Erin a twirl, taking in all her beautiful details. It was not long before they were both in tears! This was such a special and intimate moment for just the two of them, and we’re so glad we captured it!

Husband and Wife Portraits at the Brick House Farm

The overcast skies on Erin and Eric’s Wedding Day were a non-issue, as the rain held off until after the first look, portraits, and the ceremony (thank goodness!) We took gorgeous portraits in the ceremony area, with the twinkle lights and chandeliers in the background. I was so ecstatic to see not one, not two, but THREE of our #DKcouples at this wedding! We love creating long lasting bonds and friendships with our couples, and it was just incredible being all together to celebrate Erin and Eric! You’ll see a photo of all 8 of us if you scroll all the way to the end!

Romantic Ceremony at Gorgeous Colonial Home

The beautiful ceremony highlighted both Erin and Eric’s sense of humor, and their dedication to not only one another, but to each other’s families. Erin and Eric wrote their own vows and had their good friend Tom officiate. He joked about having Déjà vu, as this is the second time he has “married” them! Erin’s unique bouquet of carefully crafted wooden flowers was stunning! We absolutely LOVE shooting outdoor ceremonies, especially this one, which was truly whimsical, and held underneath the trees! Erin and Eric were both so emotional during their ceremony even despite having been officially married for a year AND doing a First Look! We are huge advocates for the First Look and truly believe that if you’re an emotional person, you will be emotional during all of those extra special parts of the day (First Look, Ceremony, First Dance, etc) and that one does not take away from the other.

Beautiful Wedding Reception

Erin, Eric, and their guests danced the night away underneath the stars. At the end of the evening, a grand sparkler exit sent Erin and Eric on their way as newlyweds! Congratulations to the both of you on this next chapter, Erin and Eric! We are so happy to have you in our life not only as clients, but as friends!
